about

This special holiday single tells the story of a polar bear cub's unexpected Arctic adventure, and her struggle to find her way home in time for Christmas. 25% of proceeds from the sale of "Ellie The Polar Bear" will be donated to Polar Bears International, a non-profit that works to protect polar bears and the disappearing Arctic sea ice habitat that they depend on. www.PolarBearsInternational.org

lyrics

It was the 18th of December
Christmas was a week away
Ellie the polar bear went outside
With her brother bears to play

They dove into the Arctic
And they romped around the bay
They were playing tag on a sheet of ice
When an ice floe broke away

She jumped and yelped and stretched her paw
And her brothers tried to reach
But the waves were much too strong
And Ellie drifted out to sea

She was scared and she began to cry
As the sun set on the bay
And the Christmas lights of Polar Town
They began to fade away

The wind died down as morning came
And she finally fell asleep
She dreamt of her bear family
Making Christmas memories

She woke up to see land ahead
And she howled a happy cry
She paddled to the shoreline
And she shook her white coat dry

She walked the way she thought was home
Got lost, and turned around
She worried she’d never find the path
That would lead her back to town

She wandered on for days and nights
On a long a lonely route
Till she came across a reindeer sleigh
And a man in a bright red suit

She asked the man what day it was
And the way to Polar Town
He laughed and said, “It’s Christmas Eve,
And that’s just where I’m bound!”

She jumped right in beside him
And those deer began to run
They floated up like a feather
Though all the presents weighed a ton

The red-nosed one knew where to go
And they soon were on the ground
All the bears ran from their dens
Yelling “Ellie has been found!”

Momma kissed the man in red
And then Ellie did the same
When she whispered, “Thank you, thank you, sir!”
He told her, “Santa is my name!”

As the sleigh took off into the sky
All the bears looked up and waved
Ellie had come home just in time
And Christmas had been saved
